Residential and Commercial Broadband

Small communities frequently have severely restricted choice when it comes to broadband services. If available at all, rarely are both cable and DSL broadband services available in the same location, or on the same terms, meaning that the cable or DSL provider is usually in a position to abuse the customer's trust through excessive rates, poor service or support, or all of the above. Dialup Internet providers are frequently competitive, but with the explosion in bandwidth-hungry content and applications, dialup increasingly cannot offer a reasonable quality of Internet experience to the home and business user. Satellite offers a third, and generally prohibitively expensive, option, but in this case the upstream traffic must still use a dialup connection.

WiMAX wireless technology promises to empower the consumer by offering a higher level of security, economy, personal service, and reliability than DSL or cable broadband. The low cost of servicing remote areas without wires, through the flexibility and ease of WiMAX infrastructure, allows the WiMAX provider to bring broadband to the home and business at highly competitive rates. Further savings and improvements in reliability and security can be made by including Voice over IP (VoIP) service on the existing WiMAX connection, replacing the traditional land line telephone with a cheaper, more flexible alternative.
