Directors Currently located in Redway, California, Jason Hehr is a successful business owner of long standing in the construction, renovation and architecture trades. He is a master of the unforgiving arts of working granite, tile, and marble. During over 12 years of managing the business of construction in Canada and the United States, he has gained an appreciation of the need, when providing customers with highly technical solutions, to ensure that each individual obtains the solution that is right for them, at a reasonable price and with a high degree of pre- and post-sale support. He brings with him the same uncompromising approach to build quality and technical knowledge when supervising a commercial or residential wireless broadband equipment installation. Sam Mercer, BSc, located in greater London, United Kingdom, has spent over 5 years overseeing the strategic planning, budgeting, and contract management of global clinical pharmaceutical trials. He has managed the business planning of projects involving dozens of countries on all continents and budgets in excess of $30 million. While his academic training is in Biochemistry, he has worked for over 10 years to improve companies' use of information technology, acquiring skills in network design, server management, website design and maintenance, and computer repair/support, in a variety of industries. He enjoys a broad circle of professional support in the European and global business community. Both Directors share a frustration with the indifference of the large incumbent telecommunications companies to the rural customer. After considerable research, business planning, and expert advice, the emerging WiMAX standard was identified as the ideal solution to the problem of rural broadband access, and True North was born in late 2005.
