Lack of broadband access prevents small business from operating effectively, stops rich educational and artistic content such as detailed photos, videos, and documents from reaching rural communities, and generally widens the "digital divide" that threatens to socially and economically marginalize rural communities. News and Events:  December, 2006 update: Southern Humboldt County, California residents: True North has decided to put on hold plans to roll out
competitively priced wireless broadband access in this area. The geographical and internet backbone challenges in this area are such that it may not be economical to provide retail internet access at this precise time. However, we are monitoring the situation and remain interested in finding a solution.
